Chickens and ducks and lambs.....OH MY!

This past Saturday, the boys went to their first petting zoo at Molly's birthday party. They got to see a 1 week old baby lamb, baby chickens, baby ducks, baby geese, baby turkeys, baby bunnies, a billy goat, a pony and a pot belly pig. WHEW!

Here are some pictures from our fun afternoon:

Jaxson looks like he's wanting to eat the bunny.........he looks a little hungry!

Jayce LOVED the baby chicken!

My little cowboys!

We tried for a family picture but the boys had it with pictures by this time (Daddy, Jaxson, Jayce and Mommy)

The boys had such a blast.........even though they may not have really known what was going on.

They have been so good lately and they are growing up so fast. Jaxson is a mover and a shaker and he is going to be crawling in no time. Jayce is more laid back but is quite the jumper so he may be walking and skip crawling all together.

Earlier this week we started giving them rice cereal again. We started it at about 3 1/2 months but stopped when we switched their formula from hypoallergenic to a regular. Now they've been on their new formula for 2 weeks with no problem and thought it'd be good to start food up again.

We are giving the rice cereal with peas this week and next week, who knows what vegetable will be next. The possibilities are endless!!!

The twins have their 6 month shots scheduled for July 2nd. I can't wait to see how much they've grown and how much they weigh. They are doing so good keeping up with what a singleton should be and I couldn't be more proud.

Growing, growing, GROWN!

Oh my boys are growing up so fast. It's hard to believe the they are 5 months already. I can't belive how fast time has flown but it sure has been a ride. They are now doing more in the last month than they have the first 5 months of their lives put together. They are laughing, rolling with such ease (which scares mommy around furniture), army crawling and babbling more than ever. I wonder when they start talking? lol........

About 2 months ago I started screeching at the boys (low pitched, trying to be quiet) to get their attention and to make them laugh. It seems as though Jayce has caught on and remembered this. Here is a video of the latest:

The boys also like the bath now...............FINALLY! Since birth they never liked car rides, the bath or stroller rides. Now that they are older and growing out of their colic, they are becoming easier. My favorite time still is bath time and now bed time. I love putting the boys to bed and just holding my sleepy babies.

I started my new job last week and one of the most popular questions I always get is, 'isn't it hard with two?'. My answer still stays the same........Kevin and I never had just one baby so we don't know any different. Having two babies is all we know at this point and since we've been working at it for 5 months now, it's easy to us. Yes, it is stressful at times but this is the best journey I have ever been on. Watching my boys grow up and being able to help them learn and grow will be the most rewarding job I will ever have!

I will leave you with some of their 5 month pictures I took.........my little chippendales! :)

Such a smiley baby!

4 month well check...........and other things!

Wow! I have so much to catch up on. The boys had their 4 month well check appointment last Friday. Here are some updates:

Jaxson - 14lbs 8oz and 25 inches long
Jayce - 14lbs 4oz and 25 inches long

About 2 weeks ago both boys had their first ear infections. Dr. Tilleson said at their well check that they cleared up great and they are doing fine. Hopefully we don't have a string of them where they'll need to get tubes. Keep your fingers crossed it was just this once and that they don't get them for a while again.

Kevin and I just finished our baptism classes last night. We are now able to schedule a date when we would like to have the boys baptized. We are thinking July or August since there is only one date in June. That'll be a great day and an experience in itself. It's their first sacrament and will be a very important role in their lives!

Here are some updated pictures that I've taken since Easter! Hope you enjoy them:

My first Mother's Day was a memorable one. It started out with Kevin making me breakfast. Then I got to have some 'me' time for a little bit and then we went to the zoo. That was our first trip this year and the boys' first time there. SO fun!

Here's Jayce all ready to go!

Life has sure been kept interesting with our little boys in tow. Jaxson has been rolling over for over a month and Jayce is now joining in the game. Jaxson can roll both ways (from his belly to his back and vice versa). Jayce only rolls from his stomach to his back for now. Today Jax started army crawling. It won't be long before he's actually crawling. We have also found their ticklish spots.......here's a video of Jayce!

Not much else is new........I will try to keep as updated as possible. In the meantime, keep checking back for updates!

Happy, Hoppy Easter!

And what a happy Easter it was! Jayce is continuing to sleep through the night, Jaxson's thrush is going away with his medicine and the WOW news, Jaxson rolled over on his own. He was put to bed on his tummy, like always, and when he woke up he was miraculously on his back! My boys never cease to amaze me! As any mother would say, my children are ahead of the game and I do truly believe that. For being premature and twins, they really are learning things quickly in my eyes!

We spent Easter at my parents 'summer home' as they call it. They are staying at a ritzy apartment until their house is done being re-built from the fire. It's coming along well and it may be done earlier than expected but until then, we get to visit them at the golf course apartments.

My brother, sister in law and nieces joined Kevin, I and the boys. We sat around, enjoyed the weather (even if it was a little windy), ate and played a game. The night ended early for my family since the boys were pretty crabby but as soon as we got home, got on the boys' pajamas, they were out like a light at 8pm sharp! They sure do know when it's their bedtime, let me tell ya'. Jayce slept through the night again until 6am but Jaxson was up 3 times. Poor guy! I can't wait until he feels better! I was up at 2am with him to feed him and then he fell asleep in my arms! I LOVE IT WHEN THAT HAPPENS.......although I don't want him to get used to it.

Here are some pictures from our day:

Jaxson hammin' it up! Such a cute little guy!

Ooh! Got an itch!

Quack, Quack!

So precious!

Jayce is such a calm, serious baby...........

but he can sure be smiley and goofy when he wants to!

I've got my eye on you!

Such a handsome boy!

You can tell they are brothers!

Finally, our first good family photo where Mommy and Daddy look nice and both boys are actually looking towards the camera!

All the grandkids! My nieces Taylor and Shea and the boys!

It turned out to be a great day and a fun first Easter for the boys!! The Easter bunny (aka Grandma and Grandpa) got the boys presents. They got some golf clothes (SO CUTE!), new car seat activity toys, books and an Easter bunny rattle. I was told by Jaxson and Jayce to say THANK YOU!!!

I finally got my videos uploaded as well. These are from about a month ago when I got them their new bouncer. Both of these are from the first time we put them in it. As you will see, they LOVED it and they still do!

Jaxson

I hope everybody else enjoyed their Easter as much as we did! I can't wait unti next year when the boys are walking and maybe can go on an Easter egg hunt! That will be so much fun!

Until next time......

3 months already!!??

Yes, I have been slacking once again but for good reason! We have really been trying to get into a routine with the boys and so far so good. For the last 3 weeks the boys have been taking naps in their cribs and just earlier this week, they started going night-night in their cribs as well. Monday night was a little rocky but Tuesday night, my Mr. Jayce man slept from 8pm until 6am. I wasn't TOO excited since full nights sleep usually don't persist at this age but Wednesday night was pretty darn good as well; both boys slept from 10pm until 4am! A solid 6 hours! So now we've made it to Thursday and they fell asleep at the bedtime we set (around 8pm) and we'll see how long they go tonight. We're keeping our fingers crossed for at least another 5-6 hours.

The boys are doing good otherwise. They are starting to play and grasp things more and make much more eye contact. They have always seemed a little advanced from day 1 with holding their head very well for newborns. At 3 months, they are already starting to roll. Jax will do it every now and then!!!! Such strong men!!

Mommy misses the boys during the day since I'm back at work. I went back March 22nd and have been fighting for almost 3 weeks to have my boss approve me to work 4 days a week so I can spend more time with the boys. So far, she isn't budging so I let her know that I will be looking for a new job. It kind of stinks since I do like my job and enjoy my co-workers (well, most of them anyways) but I have to do what's right for my family!

Here are some updated pictures to tickle your fancy:

Jayce has the most infectious smile!!

That darn puppy dog face that Mommy doesn't like!!

Jaxson's eyes are getting so blue and Jayce's I think will be hazel/dark brown.

I have 2 videos that I've been trying to put on here but they always take forever to upload. I'll have to find some time this weekend to upload them so stay tuned......

2 Month Well Check

That boys 2 month well check was last Friday. I was a little scared as to how they'd react........with them already being colicky, I was expecting the worst with them being whiney from their shots. To my surprise though, they both were perfectly fine. I kept on the tylenol for about a day and even when I stopped giving it to them, they were still fine. Obviously still crabby but that was no more than their colic so I didn't attribute it to their shots. Jaxson is now 11.3lbs and 22 inches long. He has a bigger head than Jayce so he looks bigger even though they are just about the same in size. Jax's head is 15 inches. Jax is proving to definitely be just like his Daddy. Kevin likes to take things apart and try to put them back together and Jax is following suit learning cause and effect. We got them a new bouncer and the lights go on when they hit the animals hanging from the bottom. Jaxson is definitely learning faster than I thought!Jayce is now 11.4lbs and 23 inches long. His head isn't much smaller than Jayce's......14.3 inches...........but it fits him perfectly. Jayce used to be the more laid back child and he still is to some extent but he's certainly proving to be the stronger one. Jayce is already starting to do the army crawl and hold his head up on his own for long periods of time. He is just so smiley when he plays now and will definitely let you know what he enjoys doing and what he hates. He gets that from me! :) Both boys are growing up so fast and soon they won't be babies anymore but Kevin and I are very excited to see what the next chapter will be. They certainly already seem to be a little ahead of the game so who knows what is in store for us! We just have to wait and see........... Finally the boys' eyes are changing color which was something I was intently waiting for. Jaxson is going to have blue eyes......not sure if they'll lighten up or not but right now they are a little darker blue. Jayce is definitely going to have a shade of brown.....either hazel like Kevin or dark brown like me. Their haircolor seems to be staying the same which is good. They are just so darn cute!! I wasn't too happy with the 2 month pictures I took from last post so I decided to take new ones.......not necessarily of the babies themselves but other kinds of pictures. Take a look: Mommy and Jayce Jayce Jayce Jayce Jayce Daddy and Jaxson Jaxson Jaxson Jaxson Jaxson I have so much fun taking pictures of them.........it's even better now that they are smiley! I finally did get on a monthly schedule so next pictures I take will be at 3 months. Their next well check is April 30th. Hopefully they do good with their shots again just like last time. More updates to come then.......... Love, Holly
