My little men!

Some days I'm still SO amazed that I have twins! Never in a million years did I think I'd have two babies, let alone two boys! They are such a bright spot in my life and my vacation this week with them has been great! I've got to spend so much time with them and bond so much more. We've also worked on some things since I've been home:

Jaxson is WANTING to crawl so bad. He's kinda doing it but going backwards instead of forwards. I'll put him on the area rug and put a toy in front of him and he tries to get it but ends up back towards the wall! Silly boy.

Jaxson is also VERY close to saying his first word which I believe will be Mama. He has his 'M's down very good and that's the only reason why.

Jayce is such a strong boy and everyday I try to keep him up on his legs because I think he'll be a walker and not a crawler. He jumps so good in his jumper (almost breaking it at times).

They are both doing so good with table food and each day, they eat more and more. So far they've had carrots, peas, peaches, applesauce and we just started green beans. We try to have a mixture of a new fruit one week and a new vegetable the next.

We also have started some juice which they are doing great with. I just bought them new learner cups that have handles on them so they can grip that. The other cups we have don't have handles but they still did great with those. Maybe for dinner they can have some juice afterwards and we'll see how they do.

These boys just amaze me more and more everyday and they are starting to do so much. I have been a slacker with blogging lately but I think with all the pictures and videos I've been taking, it will pick up more.

Happy 1/2 year, boys!

We made it through to 6 months successfully. The boys are teething for real now......not just being droolers like the last 3 months........both boys are sleeping through the night and Jaxson looks like he'll be crawling at any time! Whew! I doubt that Jayce will crawl! He has some strong legs and he may just walk like mommy did when she was little.

They had their 6 month shots yesterday and here are their updates:

Jaxson - 25 7/8" long and 16lbs 12oz
Jayce - 27" long and 18lbs 2oz

They are growing, growing, growing! I love every minute that I have with them and can't wait to see what they will do next.

Jaxson and Jayce are still doing good with baby food. So far they have had peas, applesauce, carrots and just started peaches today. They are still getting used to the spooon but with each day they get better and better!

On both boys you can see the outlines of their teeth on the gums. It's just a matter of time now before a tooth will actually cut. They have been pretty irritable, more than normal, so I hope one or more will come soon for both of them.

I did take their 6 month pictures and here they are!

I love coming up with ideas every month for the twins pictures. I can't wait to start plotting what to do next month.

Chickens and ducks and lambs.....OH MY!

This past Saturday, the boys went to their first petting zoo at Molly's birthday party. They got to see a 1 week old baby lamb, baby chickens, baby ducks, baby geese, baby turkeys, baby bunnies, a billy goat, a pony and a pot belly pig. WHEW!

Here are some pictures from our fun afternoon:

Jaxson looks like he's wanting to eat the bunny.........he looks a little hungry!

Jayce LOVED the baby chicken!

My little cowboys!

We tried for a family picture but the boys had it with pictures by this time (Daddy, Jaxson, Jayce and Mommy)

The boys had such a blast.........even though they may not have really known what was going on.

They have been so good lately and they are growing up so fast. Jaxson is a mover and a shaker and he is going to be crawling in no time. Jayce is more laid back but is quite the jumper so he may be walking and skip crawling all together.

Earlier this week we started giving them rice cereal again. We started it at about 3 1/2 months but stopped when we switched their formula from hypoallergenic to a regular. Now they've been on their new formula for 2 weeks with no problem and thought it'd be good to start food up again.

We are giving the rice cereal with peas this week and next week, who knows what vegetable will be next. The possibilities are endless!!!

The twins have their 6 month shots scheduled for July 2nd. I can't wait to see how much they've grown and how much they weigh. They are doing so good keeping up with what a singleton should be and I couldn't be more proud.

Growing, growing, GROWN!

Oh my boys are growing up so fast. It's hard to believe the they are 5 months already. I can't belive how fast time has flown but it sure has been a ride. They are now doing more in the last month than they have the first 5 months of their lives put together. They are laughing, rolling with such ease (which scares mommy around furniture), army crawling and babbling more than ever. I wonder when they start talking? lol........

About 2 months ago I started screeching at the boys (low pitched, trying to be quiet) to get their attention and to make them laugh. It seems as though Jayce has caught on and remembered this. Here is a video of the latest:

The boys also like the bath now...............FINALLY! Since birth they never liked car rides, the bath or stroller rides. Now that they are older and growing out of their colic, they are becoming easier. My favorite time still is bath time and now bed time. I love putting the boys to bed and just holding my sleepy babies.

I started my new job last week and one of the most popular questions I always get is, 'isn't it hard with two?'. My answer still stays the same........Kevin and I never had just one baby so we don't know any different. Having two babies is all we know at this point and since we've been working at it for 5 months now, it's easy to us. Yes, it is stressful at times but this is the best journey I have ever been on. Watching my boys grow up and being able to help them learn and grow will be the most rewarding job I will ever have!

I will leave you with some of their 5 month pictures I took.........my little chippendales! :)

Such a smiley baby!

4 month well check...........and other things!

Wow! I have so much to catch up on. The boys had their 4 month well check appointment last Friday. Here are some updates:

Jaxson - 14lbs 8oz and 25 inches long
Jayce - 14lbs 4oz and 25 inches long

About 2 weeks ago both boys had their first ear infections. Dr. Tilleson said at their well check that they cleared up great and they are doing fine. Hopefully we don't have a string of them where they'll need to get tubes. Keep your fingers crossed it was just this once and that they don't get them for a while again.

Kevin and I just finished our baptism classes last night. We are now able to schedule a date when we would like to have the boys baptized. We are thinking July or August since there is only one date in June. That'll be a great day and an experience in itself. It's their first sacrament and will be a very important role in their lives!

Here are some updated pictures that I've taken since Easter! Hope you enjoy them:

My first Mother's Day was a memorable one. It started out with Kevin making me breakfast. Then I got to have some 'me' time for a little bit and then we went to the zoo. That was our first trip this year and the boys' first time there. SO fun!

Here's Jayce all ready to go!

Life has sure been kept interesting with our little boys in tow. Jaxson has been rolling over for over a month and Jayce is now joining in the game. Jaxson can roll both ways (from his belly to his back and vice versa). Jayce only rolls from his stomach to his back for now. Today Jax started army crawling. It won't be long before he's actually crawling. We have also found their ticklish spots.......here's a video of Jayce!

Not much else is new........I will try to keep as updated as possible. In the meantime, keep checking back for updates!
