My babies are growing up so fast!

Well, I certainly have been quite the slacker in blogging department lately. Blame that on my busy schedule with 2 boys that are almost 2 months old! Time sure does fly when you're having fun.......

The boys are doing spectacular. Both still have had a little sickness lingering over the last few weeks but despite that, they are actually sleeping a little better everyday. Last night they only got up twice. YAY BOYS!

Our Mr. Men go for their 2 month check-up on March 5th. I'm scared to see how they'll react but they could be alright, you just never know! Then again, they could be just scarred for life. We'll see what happens.

My little Jaxson has been quite the learner lately. When I started putting both boys on their activity mats at 1 month, Jaxson was the one who took to it right away. Over the last few weeks, he's gotten so attentive and will just stare at you for hours. He seems to like his hands as he is always doing something with them. Maybe he'll be a wood worker or other labor intensive job when he gets older?? Kevin thinks he'll be a guitar player! :)

And my lazy Jayce man, cheeks! He's very laid back. He will go on the mat and play for all but 5 minutes before screaming to get off. He's a snuggler and loves to be cuddled and held. We have trouble getting him to bed at night for that reason but it's getting easier. We have our ways now of putting him down.

Both boys are still colicky. Last week was a rough week. Since we found out they were colicky at about 1 month, last week was the hardest week ever. Over the last 2 days, they seem to be getting better. Maybe now this is the home stretch that they get better everyday and at that 3 month mark, they will not be colicky anymore! We've heard the 3 month mark is where they stop but others say their kids were colicky well into 6 months. Hopefully these boys grow out of it soon so Mommy and Daddy can regain some sanity.

I have been taking pictures of the boys instead of taking them somewhere to have them done. It's good because I can put my own ideas into play and have the pictures exactly the way I want them. The first round of photos was when they were 2 weeks old....that was one of the pictures on their birth announcements.........and I just took more at 6 weeks. I'll probably take more this weekend at 2 months so I can start getting on a monthly schedule.

They always seem to be fussy right before I start getting them ready to take the pictures but then they turn into angels and let Mommy do what she needs to do. Here are some of my favorites:

Such loving brothers!

Jaxson is such a happy boy!

He looks like he's doing the robot.......lol

He looks like such a mischief maker!

Such a sad face

This past weekend we visited my parents at Country Springs Hotel to go swimming with the boys for the first time. I knew Jaxson would like the water because he's always so content in the bath. Jayce on the other hand was a handful. He doesn't like the bath and he sure didn't like the water but he had fun anyways.

Getting ready to take a dip in the water........

Daddy gave Jayce a mohawk

LOL

Daddy and Jaxson........like father, like son

So as you can, we have been quite the busy family lately. Just wait until the weather gets warmer and we'll be out and about all the time. Until then, we will play indoors, go shopping and visit friends.

Until next time....

Happy 1 month!

We made it past the first month! Yay! The boys are growing more and more everyday and constantly changing. As time goes on, we really see their personalities coming out. They are so different! Jaxson is more of the attention getter where as Jayce is more laid back. Of course that can change but for right now, that's how they are.

2 weeks ago Jaxson started getting bad tummy aches and gas so we switched their formula. Jaxson has been alright since but now Jayce has started projectile vomiting so it looks likes we will be switching again. I think this time it will be to a different brand. We did call the doctor and as long as Jayce is having wet diapers and eating then he is fine. So far, so good but we'll definitely be keeping an eye on him.

I started playing with the boys during the day to try and get them interested in the toys and learning. Jaxson does really well and Jayce is kinda fussy with it. At least they are getting that stimulation which is what I was shooting for.

I haven't decided a date when I will return to work but I am definitely going back. I will hate to leave these little guys during the day but they will be just fine. My sister in law (Kevin's sister) will be watching them a few days a week and my Mom will watch them for sure on Fridays and possibly more if she is able.

That is about all the news for now. We are just enjoying every minute with them and having fun watching them grow. I will leave you with a few pictures........

Love,
Holly

Whew!!

Motherhood has certainly proven to be better than I could've imagined............

We've had our fair share of restless nights since the boys have been home but for the most part, they sleep pretty darn good for only being 2 weeks old! Jaxson seems to be the big eater so he sleeps in longer blocks and Jayce eats less and is up more times to feed.

They had their first doctor's appointment last Wednesday. No immediate concerns for either of them!! YAY! They both do have blocked tear ducts that we massage twice a day and so far, it seems to be helping and clearing it up little by little.

Bath time is my favorite time so far! Both boys hate getting their bodies washed but they love when I massage their hair...........and after all is said and done, they look so cozy curled up in their towel!

Both boys have changed so much in the last 2 weeks!! I've been trying to take as many pictures as possible! So far, that hasn't been hard at all. Today I decided to try and take pictures of them together. It went better than I thought. Here are a few of my favorites:

My precious men

Picking on each other already

Jayce.....aka "cheeks"

Jaxson.....aka "peanut"

Hee, hee!

Kevin went back to work yesterday so during the day, it's just me and the boys. I love spending quality time with them. Before you know it, I'll have to go back to work and I know I'll miss it. We are just cherishing everyday and take the good with the bad.

Holly

Welcome to the world, babies!!

As you know from earlier last week, I was having some back contractions that decided to disappear on Wednesday. Looks like that was the calm before the storm........

Thursday morning my parents went with me to my doctor's appointment while Kevin stayed home to pick up the house for me. When we were done, we were hungry and going to stop for lunch before I went back home. While we were on our way there, we were in a 4 car accident. My blood pressure obviously rose with me being so completely mad at the idiot who rear ended 2 other cars behind them pushing those 2 cars into the back of my Dad's van. I think my blood pressure had something to do with putting me into labor and thinking I was hurt from the accident. My Mom hurt her back as well and we both went back to the hospital in ambulance because the doctor thought I should get checked even thought I was literally JUST there................We were in the ER for 4 hours and my doctor wanted me to go up to labor and delivery to be monitored for another 4 hours just to be sure it was all ok.

My Mom was still being checked out so Kevin and I went up to labor and delivery and they hooked me up to the monitors and everything looked okay and then they checked to see if I was dilated. The nurse said I was 4cm with Twin A's sac bulging and they were going to prep me for c-section. What news that was on New Year's Eve!!

The c-section wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be but still irritatingly painful at the same time. Our little boys were born at 5:49pm on Dec. 31st! Jaxson was first weighing in at 5lbs 10oz and Jayce was second weighing in at 6lbs 2oz. And yes, they were BOTH born at the same time just 40 seconds apart. The nurse said in 21 years that she's been a nurse, she has never seen multiples born at the exact same time!

I guess all the excitement was a blessing in disguise and thankfully Kevin came right away and my parents were there to join in all the fun otherwise it may have been missed since it all happened so quickly.

We are all doing just fine. No NICU time for the boys and all their tests have been coming back just great. They are such strong boys!!

I will leave you with some pictures of their first 2 days in this world!

Love,
Holly

Last growth ultrasound................

From now until the boys are born, I will not know how much they weigh. As of today:

Twin A - 5lbs 4ozs
Twin B - 5lbs 14ozs

Over the last 2 days I have had increasing lower back pain just like I felt a week ago when I was sick and at the hospital. At my non-stress test today I was having a lot of spikes in my uterine activity so we'll see if it keeps progressing over the next few days. My doctor said that at the point I'm at now (36 weeks), if I were to go into labor, they would not stop it and would let me have them.

The boys continue to look great, though. Fluids are good, weights are good and they have full heads of hair!!!! Now we all just can't wait to meet these little men. I am measuring about 47 weeks right now and I'm only 36 weeks so I'm pretty darn big with almost 11lbs of babies in me.

Besides all that, no new news has progressed. It's now just playing the waiting game and wondering when will they arrive. Will they come this week, next week or when the c-section is scheduled?? We'll soon see.............

Here's to hoping for new years babies,
Holly

A Very Merry Christmas........

Well, we certainly hope it will be a very merry christmas for us this year with an arrival of two special someones...........but so far, they are still cookin'. I've been going to the doctor twice a week and so far so good. Sometimes the boys cooperate and sometimes they don't. Thankfully I have my Mom to go with me and we talk and watch t.v. She certainly has kept me some well needed company!

I am now at the goal of my doctor, 34 weeks. Monday will mark 35 weeks so from now on, the longer they are in, obviously the better but 34 weeks was what they were shooting for. In case these boys DO decide to cook until 38 weeks, that is when I would be induced. My doctor has scheduled the c-section for January 12 at 7:30am. It is known that I will have to have a c-section because Twin A (Jaxson) is breech, feet first, and they doubt he is going to turn. He just likes where he's at and hasn't moved for about 1 1/2 months now. I guess if he's comfy, then let him be, right? :)

Over the last month I certainly have grown.......or should I say the boys have grown? Here are some updated pictures:

34 weeks..........almost there!

So sweet........

My Dad was kind enough to take a few extra pictures for us. I love how they came out. They will certainly be memories for us to look back on and show the boys when they are older. (Thanks Dad!)

My Mom and I also have been putting the finishing touches on the boys' room since they can come at just about any time. The letters for their names are painted and just need to be put up along with a few pictures but those are just minor things. Once everything is all together, I will post pictures of their room.

I have my next appointment tomorrow. Thursdays are my longer appointments since I have a non stress test, appointment with the doctor to answer questions and an ultrasound. But at least they are being watched closely to make sure everything is okay and falling right on track.

More updates to follow in the coming days.........

Love,
Holly
