First Family Vacation

We took our first family vacation to Wisconsin Dells last weekend. My husband and I were so worried how the kids would do. We've tried to put them down for naps at our families houses when we were over for holidays and even tried to spend the night at my parents house for Christmas last year with no success. I guess since they are home all day and don't leave the house for daycare, they are spoiled at being so comfortable being home but it causes issues when we want to go somewhere.

Needless to say, Friday night wasn't so great. They woke up about 5 or 6 times and Jaxson wouldn't go back to bed in the pack and play and ended up sleeping with my hubby on the bed which was a surprise. Saturday night was better, they only woke up about 2 or 3 times so maybe they just needed to get used to being away from home. Jaxson again, slept with my hubby in bed though. I was scared when we got home on Sunday that he wouldn't sleep in his bed but he did.

I think part of all the waking up was not being in their own beds but also the crazy teeth that are coming in one after another, after another. My poor babies have been teething for about 2 weeks straight now. Finally it seems as though it's coming to an end for now. Just until they start popping more teeth through anyways!

The hotel had indoor waterparks...........three to be exact. We went to two of them with the boys and they didn't want ANYTHING to do with them. That made me sad because I did really want to swim and have fun with them. I guess they were too intimated or scared of how big it all was. They DID play in the huge 3 level play area with all the balls. They were loving that!

All in all, it was a good weekend, a good first family vacation and my hubby had a good birthday away from home! Here are some pictures from this weekend:

Happy Mother's Day.........

AND my 100th post! Guess you could say I was waiting to write my 100th post until today! Today is monumental. A day that I dreamed about for so long. Definitely didn't think I'd have 2 children at once but it's such a blessing I can't even put it into words.

Being a Mom to Jaxson and Jayce is the most rewarding thing in the world...........tantrums, whining and all! I love my kids more than anything in this world. I may not always get up in the middle of the night and I may not always give my full undivided attention but that doesn't mean I love my kids any less. They  mean the world to me and on this day (and my 100th post), I want to tell them that Mommy loves you VERY much and thanks God for giving me this precious gift to be your momma! You are the best little boys!

Happy Mother's Day!

Easter Part Two

Easter with my family today was low key partly due to the fact that there aren't as many people as my husband's side of the family. We went to brunch with my parents, came home to put the boys down for a nap and went to their house in the afternoon. It was just my parents, my brother and his family and us.

The boys did a little better today than yesterday. They actually took a nap this afternoon for 2 hours which helped and didn't end up going to bed until 8pm which is later than normal. They got so screwed up on  naps this weekend that I hope it doesn't set us up for a bad week this week. Last night poor Jaxson was coughing so much but ended up going to sleep. I am praying this sickness passes soon so they can be better for vacation in a few weeks!

Easter Part One

This is the first year that we are having TWO easters! One with my husband's side of the family and one with mine (like usual). My husband's family lives all over so coming together is hard. We usually only see the extended family once a year for a family reunion and that only started 4 years ago. So now that everybody enjoyed getting together and didn't mind the drive, they decided to have Easter!

My hubby and I had this fantastic plan that we would leave when the boys normally take their afternoon nap and they would sleep on the way there and wake up in a great mood. Not the case..........within the last 24 hours they picked up a cough and kept waking themselves up in the car and only slept a total of 30 minutes when their afternoon nap is normally 1-2 hours.

Even so, they weren't in the worst mood and we ended up staying longer than expected. When we got home, we gave them baths, got jammies on, ate dinner and put them to bed..........or tried to. That's when the coughing started again and Jaxson is still up, 30 minutes later!

Here are some pictures from today:

This was the boys very first time around a dog. At first they didn't like it but Jayce couldn't get enough after he saw that it wasn't so bad.

My little men

Finally............something funny!

The twins are the youngest kids on both sides of the family so naturally, I'm envious of all the funny things my nieces say. I want the boys to talk so I can have the funny stories to document and look back on years later. Little did I know that I'd have something funny to say before they started talking..................

This morning the boys were up a little earlier than normal wanting to get out of their cribs. I walk into their bedroom and everything, I mean EVERYTHING in their cribs was on the floor. We have their room set up where their cribs are across from one another so naturally, everything was in the middle leaving no where to walk. I almost wish I had taken a picture................but I'm sure it'll happen again!

It didn't stop there! The dresser is right next to Jaxson's crib and he will sometimes pull open the top drawer and take out what he can grab so in addition to all the stuff from their crib, their was pajamas thrown in the mix that had to be refolded!

It gets better yet..............I walk in and put my hands on my hips and say 'what did you do!?'. Jaxson proceeds to look me straight in the eye and throw his nuk into the pile and laugh!

Those are my wonderful little men!
